As writers and business entrepreneurs, do you always PROOF your posts or comments? Do you spend hours agonizing over the content on your posts only to decide not to post? Do wonder what would happen if you forgot to include a comma or used a hyphen in the wrong spot? Do you wonder if one misspelled word is going to cause you to look less professional?

Well wonder no more! The cyber police aren’t going to come banging down your door to fine you for improper grammar usage and unless your post is riddled with inconsistencies, huge grammatical issues, or hard to read sentence structures, your readers aren’t going to care, either.

Blogging isn’t like traditional publishing. Every “i” doesn’t have to be dotted. Every “t” doesn’t have to be crossed. And every comma doesn’t have to be in its proper place. After all, in traditional publishing more than one set of eyes has gone over that reading material before it hits publication. When work is submitted to traditional publications, editors come back with requests to improve or clarify the work based on recommendations from their proofreaders and/or copyeditors. With blogging, there are usually no second pair of eyes.

Blogging isn’t about being “error-free”, though it couldn’t hurt. Blogging is about spontaneity. It’s about communicating with your readers on a more personal level. It’s about engaging in a conversation with your past, present, and future customers. It’s about sharing insights and showing a more human side to your business. It’s about being real. And being real comes with mistakes—grammatical or otherwise.

So go ahead and post. Post daily. Because the truth of the matter is this: If you spend your time fretting over every typo or grammatical mistake, you will never take part in this fascinating community of bloggers. And you’ll lose out. You’ll lose networking opportunities. You’ll lose viral marketing opportunities. And you’ll lose the awesome ability to build “friendships” with your readers and connect with your customers on a level you’ve never imagined. And you’ll lose the financial benefits of indirect sales.

And if you should receive an email informing you of a misspelled word, the wrong word usage, improper punctuation, and so forth, thank the reader, edit your post, and move on. In time, you’ll discover that your writing has vastly improved and you’ll feel less conscientious about your writing skills and more confident in the content you produce.

The main task for many people who want to write and create their own blog is to make some money from it at the same time. You can become known as an expert on a particular subject that you love by writing a blog regularly, but there is nothing sweeter than earning revenue from it as well.

Some people choose to sign up with a service that pays them for their blog posts if they write about certain services or products in a positive way. Other people don’t like using this type of service though as it means they cannot be as objective as they would like to be.

If you want to write truthfully and keep total control over your blog then your best bet is to use contextualadvertising, such as Google Adsense or text links of various types. Contextual ads mean that if your blog is about tropical fish then your ads will be related to that subject as well.

You can also find affiliate products and links that will enable you to earn money for recommending services and products to your readers. Again, these should be related to the subject of your blog – and you will usually find that you get a high click through and take up rate for this kind of monetization.

The main thing to remember is that what you write will always be paramount. Don’t be tempted to fill your blog with links, recommendations and sales patter, because people will assume your main purpose of writing a blog is to make money from it. That may well be true but you need to offer real value and realcontent for free, to keep people coming back to read everything you write. And that will bring traffic. The more traffic the more ad revenue, whether it’s Google Adsence or selling ad space to advertisers, it’s all based people liking your content.

You also need to make sure that your blog is configured for SEO, this is very important so that your good content will get indexed by the search engines.

In the end while monetizing a blog to bring in an income is a big goal of many bloggers, you should always think of your readers above everything else. If you do that you will find your blog can really take off and bring you more regular readers, traffic and money than you might have thought.

Blogging is a way for people to get to know you over a period of time. There are about 80 million blogs on the internet, but most of these have been abandoned and long forgotten within a month or two of being created. When I started blogging, almost three years ago now, I could not understand why someone would take the time to set up a blog, only to let it go after such a short amount of time.

As I continued blogging, I realized that it took more time and effort than I had originally anticipated. After just a couple of months I felt like I had said everything I had to say on the topics I was writing about. I began to post less and less frequently to my blog and soon I dreaded the thought of making even one more post. That’s when I decided to get professional help. No, I did not seek out the advice of a psychiatrist or therapist. Instead, I found a blogging mentor program where I could connect with other bloggers and receive guidance from the professional bloggers who were the founders of this mentor program.

Over the next few months I learned more about blogging than I could ever have imagined. I became energized with new ideas and methods for getting readers to my blog and posting on a regular basis. I also connected with the other members of the mentor program and had an opportunity to ask them questions about various aspects of their blog and online business. I could see right away that many of the members were doing extremely well on the internet, and I had the chance to emulate some of their methods.

The best part of this blogging mentor group and forum is the learning process that goes on. We have access to training calls and teleseminars, as well as having our questions answered promptly. This has become the first place I go when I am looking for a joint venture partner, outsourcing recommendations, and information on monetizing my specific niche.

There are so many forums and mentor programs available on the internet that it is difficult to sort out which programs are legitimate and will help you to build a profitable online business. I feel fortunate to have found this one because now I have about three hundred people who are as serious about blogging and incorporating new ideas into their online businesses as I am. I encourage you to make a connection like this and blog your way to online success.

Many people dream of blogging for profit, and this goal is not far beyond the reach of someone with average intelligence, a willingness to work hard, and a basic grasp of blogging technology. However, very few people manage to reap the profits they want from their blog. Most people who attempt to make money with their blogs do not succeed for two reasons. Often, bloggers have unrealistic expectations of how fast their reader ship will grow and how much money they will make, and when these expectations are not met the disappointment can crush the desire to continue blogging. The other trap that many bloggers fall into has to do with lack of planning. If you want to turn a profit as a blogger, the key to success is to make a realistic plan and stick with it.

To succeed at blogging for profit, the main thing that you will need is a large readership. The higher your traffic, the more advertisers will agree to pay you. However, cultivating the regular visitors that you will need in order to make a profit isnt easy. As more and more blogs appear each day, having a great idea or a wonderful writing style is no longer enough to get
attention. You need to be able to market your blog effectively.

Too many bloggers spend all of their time writing posts and almost no time marketing their project. To be certain, updating as often as you can is a great way to keep your blog high on blogrolls and high in blog search engines like technorati, and once your readers know that you update frequently they will return to your site on a regular basis. However, it does not matter how often you update if nobody is reading your page, so dont
skimp on the time that you spend drawing visitors to your site. To make your dreams of blogging for profit a reality, try decreasing your number of posts and using some of that time to draw new visitors by setting up
link exchanges with other bloggers, making contacts in the blog community, and following other established modes of winning traffic.

Of course, even if you are a marketing genius or have a really great idea for a blog, success is not going to happen overnight. Building the kind of readership that blogging for profit requires takes time, and in all
likelihood it will be at least several months before you are able to turn much of a profit. Try to stay committed to your blogging project during this initial rough period. To stay motivated, set goals for how often you will
update and how many readers you want to attract, and then reward yourself for sticking with your plan.

Like many important people before you – perhaps you’ve underestimated the power of blogging. Blogs can be used, not only as the single easiest way to get a listing in the search engine for your desired keywords, but also serve the fantastic purpose if building a relationship with your quickly growing list of readers, listeners and viewers.

After a light lunch today, I was left in the greatest mood. So I figured I would sit down and share with you 10 ways you can share my success and popularity using blogs.

1. Use a keyword specific blog title and description. When creating your blog, I just used the free service www.blogger.com you’re asked to title or name your blog and give a short description. Take this chance to think a little.

Ask yourself:

a) Who do you want to read your blog?
b) What is your interest or topic – what will you enjoy writing about?

If you have a poetry blog for example – use the word poet or poetry in your title and description. You can research the popularity of your keywords use Overture’s free tool here: http://inventory.overture.com

2. Try to update often (short daily entries work great) using hand written or bot generated keyword rich informative content. Give your visitors something they want to read. I love to write so I create all my original posts, but if you have a site that needs traffic or a topic that you don’t know much about you can set up an automatically updating feed using other people’s blog posts, or articles. Each entry is seen as its own html page, so the engines see your blog as a multi-paged site, that is updated regularly and rich in links and keywords.

3. Create an interesting profile. Searchers and fellow bloggers love the fact you’re a real person, this helps to build personal relationships. Again, put a little time and effort into this one. Tons of people peek at your profile, and Blogger.com keeps track of all your views, so open up and share a little. Everything on your profile page is taken as a searchable keyword. Things like: what you like to do, your favorite movies and music, etc. Each one will get you listed under that topic in the blogger.com directory.

4. One way to jump right in and get visitors and feedback immediately is by posting to similar blogs and linking back to your blog. Say you have a poetry blog: you can use Blogger’s search tool and your keyword – in this case “poetry” or “poet.” (Another way to get a quick high listing is to search Google for example “poetry blog.”)

You can post a comment on their blog, just a short personal remark will do. Keep it polite, no one wants to hear negative criticism. Blogs are more personal than chartrooms or forums, and often contain personal views and opinions of the author, so don’t go stepping on toes. The point is to make contact, build relationships, and exchange links. More links to your blog equals more free targeted traffic for you.

5. RSS is your friend! Create an RSS feed, by hand or using Feedburner. This gives your readers the option to subscribe to your blog with just a click. What this means to you is 100% deliverability of all the content you write by the readers request – your posts are sent directly to your subscribers via their RSS reader otherwise known as an aggregator. They are personally notified every time you post to your blog. And best of all, no spam complaints ever, and they get every update you make – no blockers or filters. Total word freedom!

6. Spread your feed by submitting to RSS directories. This is a one time deal, and you can either search and do it manually or use the tool I used: RSS Automator (it finds and submits to tons of different directories for you).

Only submit each blog once. This is a lasting deal that could mess up your good standing if you do it multiple times. So to be sure you get a listing, only submit to directories once. (This is not the same thing as pinging; you can ping every time you update your blog.)

7. Ping your blog every time you update using pinging services like pingomatic.com and pingoat.com. This lets the directories know you have updated and added a new post to your blog.

8. Create a personalized or branded RSS reader/aggregator. Talk about top of mind awareness. You don’t have to be a programming genius for this one (though it helps.) There are a couple services that for a small one time fee will customize a reader for you, with your logo, header and graphics, and preload it with any media you want. So with this you’re sure to be seen and remembered every day. Check out one of the best services here: http://www.tristana.org/publishers/specs

9. People love to read you, but hearing you is even better. Give Podcasting a try – there are tons of ways to get started here. I would personally recommend http://www.Libsyn.com for all your Podcasting needs. It uploads, stores, hosts, and sets up the RSS and pings for you. Like Podcasting for dummies. Then just submit your podcast to different directories and readers like Apple iTunes, and ipodder.org.

10. Radio is great but now you can create a following by imitating the idiot box. Give your subscribers another way to obsess using Video-meets-Blogging or “The Vlog.” This is a medium that is far from saturated. The possibilities are endless, and you’re only limited to what you limit yourself. Though it has not been promoted too widely, the new Apple iTunes Podcasting feature supports Vlog subscriptions as well.

Design Press
Everybody seems to have a blog today. Blogging has become a way of life for some people. Bloggers are just about everywhere these days and blogs are built principally with the intention of sharing ones opinions and thoughts. But sadly, it is a fact that blogs remain mostly unread and unseen for that matter, by the general internet population. Blogs are overrated because they have become yet another trend, as it has been a trend in the past to own a cell phone or to have an ipod.

Another reason why blogs have become so popular is because some people have made a great deal of money from their blogs. We all have heard of those few bloggers that draw massive amounts of traffic to their blogs and that have made or are making tons and tons money. But if we look very carefully at statistics for blogs, we will see that these are just a small number of people amongst the thousands and thousands of other bloggers. So let’s get a closer look at blogging and put things into better perspective.

The Truth About Blogging

Having and maintaining a blog is not an easy task. You can not simply build one and then let it set there collecting dust for the rest of its meager life. A blog needs to be refreshed every so often with new entries and with new topics so that visitors return every now and then to pay you a visit. You will always have to constantly have new ideas to post to keep catching the reader’s interest and coming back for more.

Blogs can tell a lot about a person. The media has advertised recently how some employers have been basing their hiring decisions upon visits to the job candidate’s blogs. Always try to keep your blogs anonymous as much as you can. Also, check your grammar carefully and never, ever forget to spell check your blog. Do not put your blog URL in your next resume unless it is an utter work of art.

Blogs have been known to ruin reputations of more than a few people. Some employees have vented about their daily frustrations with their boss and job or even worse, they have posted secrets of their trades in their blogs. Some were simply frowned upon for this, but others actually violated job related secrecy codes. When exposed these bloggers were in a great deal of trouble. Also, don’t post blogs about your ex girlfriend’s bad habits or your racial views, please keep your private thoughts to yourself.

Blogs need to be employed with a certain level of marketing skills. Do you have what it takes to advertise in a way that is adequate enough to drive traffic to your blog? With thousands and thousands of blogs, sticking out in the crowd may be challenging, if not almost impossible. A certain level of knowledge in marketing strategies will be necessary to get the results you need.
Design Press

Design Press
You are probably already well aware of how you need to create an Internet presence for your website in order for it to be profitable. Because the goals of search engine optimization lie in making your site well-known, well-visited, and income-generating, you need to exhaust as many resources as possible to drive the success of your SEO campaign.

Have you ever considered blog commenting as part of your SEO plan of attack? Unbeknownst to many, the blog world or the blogosphere has become a haven for webmasters and successful SEO strategists. Blogs today have evolved to being mere online journals and daily chronicles, into powerful marketing tools that many are profiting from. As of the year 2007, Technorati and Businessweek reported more than 15.5 million active blogs around the world. With these stats, they also presented that about 1.3 million posts are made on blogs per day.

You can only imagine how commenting on a blog can greatly benefit your SEO campaign. Here are some tips to help you out with your site’s SEO:

1. Before you jump into the blog commenting wagon, you should first choose a blog site and register an account. When you pick a username, make it as relevant to your site as possible. Avoid using vague SEO keywords, and always use English in selecting a username for generality. You may even use the domain name if you wish. Only those with registered accounts on a blog portal can make comments on active blogs.

2. Whenever you land on a blog, read its content, and think about making a comment, always have your SEO in mind.If your site is on a certain niche, such as skin care products for instance, you can search Google for as many skin care blogs as you can. When making a comment on a blog entry, you can place a link for your website so other fellow blog readers can easily link to yours. Even more possible visitors will be driven to your site if the blog you commented on has many RSS subscribers. Every update on that blog informs the RSS subscribers that something interesting will be worth reading.

3. Make your post sensible. Don’t just click on the “post” or “comment” button with something uninteresting and irrelevant typed in the text box.
